Installing New PayPal Module (Latest API 2.0) for osCommerce 2.2 and 2.3 Without Cart Customizations

Although osCommerce 4 has been released, many shop owners continue to use systems based on osCommerce 2.2 and 2.3.

To support these users, the PayPal module has been updated to ensure compatibility with osCommerce 2-based systems, including support for PayPal Express and APM (Alternative Payment Method) options.

This guide explains step by step how to install the new PayPal module using the latest API 2.0.

1) Downloading the Installation File

1. Download the PayPal installation file from the official link:

https://www.oscommerce.com/pub/paypal_v2x_install.php

2. Once downloaded, open your preferred FTP client.

3. Upload the file to your server’s public_html folder.

4. Confirm that the file was successfully uploaded.

2) Running the Installer

  1. Open your website in a browser.
  2. The system will automatically check and confirm that it meets the module requirements.
  3. Click the Install button to begin the installation.

4. Verify that the installation completed successfully.

5. Click Go to admin area to configure module to continue.

3) Configuring the Module

  1. Log in to your website’s Admin area.
  2. Navigate to Modules → Payment.
  3. Locate the PayPal Quick Setup button.
  4. Click it to begin configuring the module.
