Managing Refer Friend

This manual explains how to configure and manage the Refer Friend module in your osCommerce store. The module enables a referral program that rewards both existing and newly referred customers.

1) Module Installation

1. Access the admin area of your website.
2. Navigate to the App Shop → Store tabs.
3. Use the quick search to find the Refer Friend module.
4. Install the module on your website.

2) Module Configuration

1. Go to the Modules → Extensions tabs.

2. Locate the Refer Friend module and click the Edit button.

3. Enable the module.

4. Configure the following settings:

• Refer Friend Gift Voucher Amount (amount or percentage): Defines the reward given to the referrer when a referred customer places an order.
• Refer Friend Release Order Statuses (gift or old scheme): Determines when the referrer and referred customer receive their reward.
• Referred Customer Coupon Amount (amount or percentage): Defines the discount applied to the first order of a referred customer.
• Choose between Gifts and Coupons: Select how rewards will be distributed.

• Save the settings.

3) Referral Process

• Customers can refer friends and family by sharing a unique code and website link.

• The referral code is generated automatically and sent to the referred customer in an email from the referrer’s account.

4) Email Template Setup

1. Navigate to Design and CMS → E-mail templates tabs.

2. Use the quick search to locate the Refer Friend email template.

3. Click the Edit button to manage the template settings:

• Assign a sales channel.

• Choose HTML or Text format.
• Edit the email title and content.
• Add template keys as required.

4. Save the changes.

With the Refer Friend module enabled and configured, your store can run a referral program to attract new customers while rewarding loyal ones.
