Managing VAT On Order

This manual explains how to enable, configure, and manage the VAT on Order module in your osCommerce website to automatically determine whether VAT should be applied to customer orders.

1) Access the Admin Area

  1. Log in to the admin area of your website.
  2. Navigate to the App Shop → Store tabs.

2) Install the VAT on Order Module

  1. Use the Quick Search field to find the VAT on Order module.
  2. Click Install to add the module to your website.

3) Configure the Module

  1. After installation, go to Modules → Extensions.
  2. Find the VAT on Order module in the list and click Edit.

3. On the module edit page, you can:

  • Enable or disable the module.
  • Disable taxation for orders if a customs number (EORI) is present.
  • Define No Tax Countries using ISO-2 country codes (e.g., BE, BG, etc.).

4. Adjust Platform Settings

  1. In the Platform Settings section, select the desired sales channel by clicking its tab.
  2. Choose whether to:
    • Exclude tax for users with a VAT ID.
    • Enable strict VAT ID validation, allowing validation only via the official europa.eu web service and rejecting manually formatted IDs.

5) Final Confirmation

Once the module is configured, the system will automatically determine whether VAT should be applied to each order based on the defined rules and customer VAT details.
