New PayPal Module (Latest API 2.0) Configuration in Standard Variant for osCommerce 4-based systems

This manual describes how to configure the PayPal module (Latest API 2.0) in the standard variant for osCommerce 4-based systems.

Use the video to get started quickly.

The manual below contains full instructions and tips.


1) Accessing PayPal Quick Setup

  1. In the admin area, go to Modules > Payment > Online tabs.
  2. Choose the required sales channel.
  3. Click the PayPal Quick Setup button.

2) Starting PayPal Connection

  1. In the pop-up window, choose Yes, connect it (assuming you already have a PayPal account).
  2. Click the Next button.

3) Setting up API Keys

You have two options:

  • Option A: Use your own REST API keys (enter them manually later).
  • Option B (recommended): Automatically obtain API keys from PayPal.

You can also use PayPal sandbox account to test this functionality first (we assume you would like to get your REST API automatically from PayPal).

1. To use Option B, click the Continue to PayPal button

2. Log in to your PayPal seller account.

3. Click Agree and Connect.

4) Returning to osCommerce

1. After a successful connection, you will see the success page.

2. Click Go back to osCommerce Sandbox.

3. Scroll down to view the generated PayPal REST API keys.

  • If you chose Option A earlier, you will instead need to manually fill in your own keys in the corresponding fields.

5) Testing the API Connection

  1. Click the Test API Details button.
  2. If the connection is successful:
    • Click the Close icon.
    • Click the Update button.

The PayPal module is now successfully configured in the standard variant and ready to process payments.
