If you need to install osCommerce 4.x with a single active sales channel using the Let Me Install Myself option, first review the manual osCommerce version 4.x installation via Let me install myself option for multiple sales channels or watch the corresponding video for detailed guidance.

If you install osCommerce 4.x on the osCommerce server, you’ll get a 30-day free trial to test the platform.

After the trial period, you can either:

  • Continue with osCommerce hosting at an affordable price, or
  • Move your website to another hosting provider.

Use the steps below to complete installation for a single sales channel.


1) Choosing a Single Sales Channel

At the fourth step (Settings):

  • Select the required sales channel from the drop-down list.
  • Fill in the required fields.
  • Click Update Database.

In this example, the single sales channel selected is Furniture, along with the corresponding theme.

2) Creating an Administrator Account

At the fifth step (Administrator Account):

  • Fill in the required fields.
  • Click Create Access.

An email will be sent to the specified address containing:

  • A link to the administrator area.
  • Login details for administrator access.

You can then click the To visit admin area click here link, followed by the Complete Installation button.

3) Completing Installation

  • After clicking Complete Installation, you will see the selected sales channel with its theme applied (e.g., Furniture theme).

  • Log in to the admin area of your website.

4) Post-Installation Steps

1. Navigate to the Dashboard tab.

  • A warning will appear requesting removal of the Installation directory for security reasons.

  • Using FTP access, connect to the server with your FTP client.
  • Go to the public_html folder and remove the install directory.

  • Refresh the Dashboard to confirm the warning is gone.

2. Go to the Sales Channels tab.

  • Confirm that the chosen single sales channel is active.
  • The other sales channels will remain inactive but available for reference.

3. Go to the Design and CMS → Themes tab.

  • Confirm that the Furniture theme is installed.
  • Other themes are also available for reference if needed.

At this point, your single active sales channel is ready, and you can begin further configuration of your website.
