OsCommerce version 4.x installation on your own server for multiple sales channels

1) Preparation
1. Navigate to https://www.oscommerce.com website and click on Download your FREE Shopping Cart button.
2. Once the ZIP file is downloaded:
- Unzip the file.
- Upload its contents to the public_html folder of your server using your preferred FTP client.
- Review the installation information in the included readme file.
2) Installation Steps
1. After uploading the files, open your website in a browser. On the Unpacking Installation Files page, click Next.
2. On the License Agreement page (first step), click Accept and Start Installation.
3. On the Pre-installation Check page (second step), click Proceed.
4. On the Database Access page (third step):
- Fill in the required database connection fields.
- Click Install Database.
- If an error appears, select Delete data and continue installation to clear your database and click Retry.
5. On the Settings page (forth step):
- Fill in the required fields.
- Choose Multiple sales channels (default) or select a single sales channel from the dropdown list.
- Click Update Database.
6. On the Administrator Account page (fifth step):
- Enter the required details.
- Click Create Access.
- An email will be sent to the specified address with a link to the administrator area and login credentials.
7. To finalize, click To visit admin area click here and then Complete Installation.
3) Post-Installation
1. After completing installation, the osCommerce Splash page appears, showing information about your installation, installed sales channels, and an option to log in to the admin area.
- Click on Admin and log in.
2. In the Dashboard tab, a warning may appear asking you to remove the Installation directory for security reasons.
- Remove the installation directory from your server.
- Refresh the page to confirm the warning is gone.
3. Go to the Sales channels tab to verify that all four sales channels are active.
4. Go to Design and CMS → Themes to confirm that all four themes have been installed.
After completing these steps, osCommerce 4.x with multiple sales channels is successfully installed on your server. You can now proceed with configuring your website further.
