Testing New PayPal Module (Latest API 2.0) on Front End for osCommerce 2-based systems
Although osCommerce 4 has been released, many shop owners still use systems based on osCommerce 2.
To support these users, the new PayPal module has been updated to include Express and APM (Alternative Payment Method) options, ensuring full compatibility with osCommerce 2-based systems.
This guide explains how to test the PayPal module on the website front end after configuration.

1) Testing PayPal Express Checkout
1. Log in to the website front end.
2. Click on one of the products.
3. Click Add to Cart.
4. Depending on module configuration, the corresponding PayPal button(s) will appear.
5. Navigate to the login page to verify if the PayPal button is displayed there.
6. Return to the Shopping Cart page and click on the PayPal button.
7. Log in to your PayPal buyer account or click Continue without a PayPal account.
8. Click Complete Purchase.
9. A Success Page will confirm that the order has been processed.
In the Admin Area, go to Orders → Orders.
- The new order will be listed with the status set in the module settings.
- Click Edit to review payment method and transaction details.

2) Testing PayPal Credit Card Payment
1. Add another product to your shopping cart.
2.Click Checkout.
3. On the Delivery Information page, click Continue.
4. The PayPal credit card payment options configured in module settings will appear.
5. Enter valid credit card details and click Continue.
6. Since totals are not displayed on the previous page, the Confirm Order page will be shown.
7. Click Confirm Order.
8. A Success Page confirms the order has been processed.
In the Admin Area, go to Orders → Orders.
- The order is created with the configured status.
- Click Edit to review payment method and transaction details.

3) Testing Alternative Payment Method (Giropay)
1. Add another product to your shopping cart.
2. Click Checkout.
3. On the Delivery Information page, click Continue.
4. Select Giropay as the payment method and click Continue.
5. On the next page, click Test Successful Payment.
6. A Success Page confirms the order has been processed.
In the Admin Area, go to Orders → Orders.
- The order will appear with the configured status.
- Click Edit to view payment and transaction details.
